HBC Elders Plan Secret Meeting Today with MacDonald, and HBC Lawsuit Blog Goes Live

On 11 April, 2019, a new blog was launched, calling for legal action against HBC to expose “the continued corruption and fraud.” The site at this time is anonymous, but it is clearly calling for other members and donors to join his/her/their efforts to bring legal action against HBC. Any lawsuit would, of course, bring a new round of discovery which would bring much needed light to the financial abuses and abuses of power that occurred at HBC. Check out harvestbiblechapellawsuit.com.

In related news, last night it was announced that the remaining 7 HBC Elders were having a secret meeting with James Macdonald today. From a very credible source I learned of the plan for this meeting yesterday, and it appears that the meeting is to take place with the company that was hired by HBC to help facilitate the reconciliation process.

Yet again, these elders, who should have resigned long ago, have no kept very relevant information from the HBC congregation. One issue of serious concern is the question of the rights to MacDonald’s sermons. These sermons are the property of Walk In the Word which is a ministry of HBC, and MacDonald created them as an employee of HBC, making them the property of HBC. No doubt MacDonald wants them so he can sell them to the uninformed and unsuspecting masses as part of his rebrand and relaunch. HBC owes it to the Church to do all it can to prevent this disturbed person from selling his wares. And, what other financial negotiations are these untrustworthy elders conducting with the disgraced MacDonald? What else are they prepared to give to the man who destroyed their church without informing the congregation? As always, this turn of events raises numerous other questions?

  • Why are these men meeting with a terminated former employee?
  • Why are these untrustworthy, secretive elders allowed to negotiate any deals with MacDonald?
  • What are they prepared to give away to MacDonald at today’s meeting?
  • Are they going to demand reimbursement from MacDonald for the church for all of the money he wasted?
  • Who at HBC as the legal authority to make deals with MacDonald with the congregations money?
  • Will the HBC Elders conduct a forensic audit and resign to make a lawsuit unnecessary?

  1. Since HBC is in Crook County (very appropriate), someone should contact Kim Foxx to investigate the church. Hopefully, this will force the elders to do their due diligence and protect the church (bride of Christ) rather than JimmyMac. Using JimmyMac’s words in Christianity Today (https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2018/november-web-only/james-macdonald-harvest-bible-chapel-suing-our-critics-bibl.html); it can be used against him. Someone should “provide true Biblical rationale” to sue JimmyMac personally and corporately the carnal entity known as HBC. Thus according to Matthew 18:17 their refusing to “hear the Church” requires that they be treated as non-believers, as “gentiles and tax collectors.” “Innocent people didn’t just leave the church, but too often left the church. We saw the effects not just in Chicago, but worldwide”. Friends lost their sons to the faith. New believers who struggled to trust Christ and any authority too often jumped to “fears confirmed” and retreated into unbelief. People who were saved through the ministry and feeling first time joy in Christ were devastated to read the vitriol. So much damage to so many innocent people…. prompted us to study the Scriptures afresh regarding established authority, ordained by God to punish wrongdoers (Rom. 13:1-6). Thus the need to protect the bride of Christ as these wolves have pillage and stolen from the church of Jesus Christ.

  2. Bill Sperling backed the Lawsuit against TED and ROYs. He and Smith have stuck around and still hold CORPORATE OFFICER Postions. As a matter of fact, Sperling took countrol of the money by grabbing the Treasurer’s Office after James was removed as and Elder and Fired from his Pastors position.

Was James Removed from his position as a Corporate Officer of HBC? We have yet to see proof this took place.

All the HBC Power on Earth will be in the room tonight. One could conclude that Sperling and Smith have stuck around long enough to cover tracks and take care of James on the way out. If this is the case, the secret nature of today/tonight’s meeting begins to make sense.

Regardless we know this. ED Stetzer was not an employee of HBC and yet he was gifted a 13000 car with funds from HBC’s Walk In the Word Ministry. This IS the deal breaker BUT it requires sweeping ACTION by those who care about the future of HBC and those that have been scammed in the past.

WE MUST CONTACT THE STATES ATTORNEY AND DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY AND IRS AND MAKE OUT COMPLAINTS KNOWN. I ALREADY HAVE. BUT ITS NOT ENOUGH. WE NEED ALL HANDS ON DECK. CONSIDER PICKING UP THE PHONE AND INFORMING THESE AUTHORITIES

Here is a simple call sheet I suggest using

“Hello, my name is …. …….. I am a current or former member of Harvest Bible Chapel. In recent months our longtime Pastor James Macdonald was fired when audio of him discussing weaponizing child porn were played on the radio.. This caused us great shock and sadness. Now a prominent Christian author and leader ED STETZER has admitted to being in possession of a $13000 car gifted to him by James Macdonald. It has now been reported that the car was purchased with donor funds give to a church ministry called walk in the word.

WE BELIEVE THIS CONSTITUTES DONOR INTENT FRAUD. WE ARE ASKING YOU TO OPEN AN INVESTIGATION IN LIGHT OF THESE DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES TO ENSURE THOSE RESPONSIBLE ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND FURTHER VICTIMS ARE SPARED. THE FINANCIALS HAVE BEEN HEAVILY GUARDED FOR YEARS AND ALL REQUESTS TO OPEN THE BOOKS HAVE BEEN DENIED BY CHURCH LEADERSHIP.”

    1. Do you think a former WITW donor who doesn’t live in the state call about this?

  3. What time does this shindig start today?

  4. The Current Corporate Officers…..of which lawsut backing BILL SPERLING is The Treasurer …. have all the earthly power needed to give James whatever they see fit.

This is why SPERLING not only stuck around…But also snagged The Treasurer’s Office.

It has yet to be proven that James has been removed from HIS previous Corporate Officer Position. Fired yes. Removed as an Elder yes. Terminated as a Corporate Officer MAYBE?

All former and current members MUST move to action.

    CONTACT KANE COUNTY STATES ATTORNEY.

  5. The JMac mafia will start their come back after this meeting. JMac has patiently been waiting for this opportunity. These bankrupt crooked elders will cave and he will get what he wants. Rabbi trust is not enough for this sick lover of money. He wants the WITW to maintain his “bling” lifestyle.

  6. As James has said in the past, he never goes to a meeting that he doesnt already know how it will end. Scary.

    1. That may be so, but we already know that he does file lawsuits where he doesn’t already know how they will end.

  7. Stop Catch and Save April 12, 2019 — 10:40 am

Only way to stop them is to file a motion for involuntary Bankruptcy either a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13 reorganization. The federal Court would immediately appoint a trustee who would immediately be in
charge of all the assets and transactions. The trustee would also have the power to look back at previous
transactions and even ‘claw back’ the assets and or money that was given out improperly.
It is the only way to stop these scoundrels dead in their tracks and be able to get the transparency they
    refuse to give!

  8. Jesus’ condemnation of self-righteousness was especially harsh in His treatment of the Jewish leadership of the time. Six times in Matthew 23,

    Matthew 23:1-39 NASBS
    [1] Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, [2] saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses;

1st [3] therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them.

2nd [4] They tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger.

    3rd [5] But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men;

4th for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.

5th [6] They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues, [7] and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called Rabbi by men. [8] But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. [9] Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. [10] Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ.

6th [11] But the greatest among you shall be your servant. [12] Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.

    Source Tecarta NASB

  9. It would be helpful to add the names of the elders attending the secret meeting to keep their names in the spotlight. The Harvest Bible Chapel problem is more than JMac.

  10. To facilitate a reconciliation process? Yeah, right. Why do I suspect that someone wants more money for his years of gospel™ service?

  11. These Elders never stood up to MacDonald before so what is going to change now? They gave him unconditional support! What dirt does MacDonald have on these Elders so as to influence the meeting? You know they want to sweep all financial malfeasance under the rug never to see the light of day.

  12. Rumor has it there’s millions of dollars in WITW. Enough that nearly all the church debt could be paid off.

  13. The current Elders have no right to take part in negotiations with MacDonald. What is the hurry? The new Elder board should do this. This shows that HBC is still keeping things secret – still misleading and lying to the congregation. Still no audit! Still no financial statements! Still no accounting of the millions of dollars misspent dollars buying Safaris, Harleys, Rolex watch’s, and God knows what else. Any congregants left are supporting this evil and are now culpable. No excuse. Walk with your feet!

    1. Agreed, David.
Any congregants left are supporting this evil and are now culpable. No excuse. Walk with your feet.
