Our sincere hope is that James MacDonald would come to see what many others are worried about in him – the appearance of a perpetual quest for both money and power. Moreover, we are hopeful that he would make right what needs to be made right.
Secondly, we are hopeful that the current elders of Harvest Bible Chapel would recognize and embrace their role in shepherding and protecting the sheep that have been entrusted to their care. Specifically, it our hope that they would take seriously the charge of 1 Timothy 3:1-7, ensuring that all elders are living lives that are both privately and publicly consistent with the mandates of this passage.
Thirdly, we are hopeful that the congregations that gather under the banner of Harvest Bible Chapel and the congregations in the greater universal church at large would take seriously the need for transparency amongst church leaders. We do no one any favors when we fail to live openly with one another as a community gathered around the cross of Jesus Christ.
Fourthly, we are hopeful that the congregation of Harvest Bible Chapel would consider meeting with their elders to discuss the financial issues raised in this blog, and prayerfully consider their participation in the 5G campaign.
Fifthly, we are hopeful that if James MacDonald and Harvest Bible Chapel should decline to make, what in our opinion, are necessary changes, the people of Harvest Bible Chapel and the people within the Harvest Fellowship might prayerfully consider finding a new spiritual home.
Finally, and most significantly, we are hopeful – desperately hopeful – that the critique we have offered through this website brings glory to God. And if we have fallen short on this account, we are equally hopeful that He will show us mercy on the Day of Judgement that awaits all us, believers and unbelievers alike.
Having said all of this, some people may be wondering what to do next. The answer to that question most likely depends upon whether you currently attend Harvest Bible Chapel, a church in the Fellowship, or another church that is not directly impacted by the ministry of James MacDonald. Therefore, we submit that the way forward will look different for each and every one of us. And all we can suggest is for you to consider a course of action based upon your current church home.
